How To Fix A Game Not Run On Steam Deck
So you’ve picked up the amazing steam deck and you want to play some awesome indie games but you have a problem where the game just will not run but we’re gonna fix that right now it’s super easy to fix so let’s get on with it I’m going to talk about tanglewood game because this game have some issues and sometimes it’s not running in steam deck so let’s fix it right now so first we’re going to go on the play section and you will see the game info says the game is still unknown so this is where steam just doesn’t have an idea if the game runs or not.
so let’s try and run the game so we hit play and if you get this problem it starts to load just will not run then we can fix it right now so let’s move over here to the cog icon on right hand side we’re going to click that and we’re going to go down into properties and then we’re going to move down again into compatibility and then we’re gonna go tick this box here forced the use of a specific steam play compatibility tool so you’re just gonna tick that box now it will automatically select proton experimental you can leave this as it is you don’t have to do anything else here I’ll show you what else is in here so if it doesn’t run under this come back to this page and choose an older version of proton to run the game anything you want there so just try that but we don’t need to this will run perfectly just by clicking the experimental branch so we’re going to back out here there’s no save option or anything you can just press B button and back all the way back out the game will require a small update so we’re going to do right now click on the update and then little patch it’s applying it’s already done we’re going to click the play button and it’s going to work straight away then you see launching game there’s just a steam icon and there you go now you can run any game on your steam deck.
