This PlayStation 2 Hidden Easter Egg is Currently Blowing Everyone's Mind
So hey everyone where today we’re actually going to be taking a look at a very interesting secret easter egg from my favorite console the playstation 2.in this blog has to do with your save files from the playstation 2 memory card however this time it is actually a secret easter egg that you probably never even noticed so without further ado let’s go ahead and we’ll get started okay so in order to access the save data we need to first make sure that there is no game disk inside of the system otherwise it’s just going to start playing the game and we won’t even be able to access what’s on the memory card next we’re going to go to the browser and then select memory slot 1 and as you can see all of the saved data from any games that i have previously played are beginning to load on the screen now so one of the unique features of the playstation 2 was the introduction to animated save file icons and most people remember that if you clicked on any of your save files they would either spin or they would animate in some way depending on the game now the easter egg is that a very select view of games would actually have save file icons that would change their animation if you tried to delete or copy the save file and it’s a very subtle change so you really need to be paying attention back in the day in order to even notice this so for example with rc revenge pro if we click on the save file icon of bad rc i think is his name you can see it does its normal animation of just spinning and tilting back and forth now if we try to delete it you can see the animation actually changes and he’s sort of shaking his head saying no don’t delete me now let’s say instead we try to copy the file to another memory card what you’ll notice is that again the animation actullay changes now the reason you might have not noticed this back in the day is because again it only applied to certain games as you can see with final fantasy 10,2 for example the cactuar animation doesn’t change regardless if you try to delete or copy the file but just to show you guys i guess some more examples of interactive i guess is what you would call them save file icons we have tech and tag tournament with ling xiaoyu and as you can see she starts crying when You try to delete the file but if we try to copy it you can see she is much happier about that and the animation changes where she’s Jumping up down then we have onimusha 2 which is another good one and if we try to click on jube and delete him he starts to fall on the ground but if we try to copy it the animation would change again and he’s sort of doing like a slicing animation with a sword which i guess is supposed to symbolize the copying of the save file now another very interesting easter egg about ps2 save file icons is that some of them would actually completely change all together depending on where you were at in game so for example with final fantasy 10 2 with this save file we are at the beginning of the game at celsius bridge but over here at a later point in the game at mushroom rock the save file completely changes all together to a different icon but yeah those are a couple little known easter egg about the playstation 2.
